Our competition grade A-frames are fabricated from 1" welded steel tubing with 1/2" steel tubing trusses welded underneath so that there is virtually no flex in the frame, no matter how big your dog is. The fabricated steel frames are sandblasted and powder coated in virtually any color you want. The A-frame skins are 1/2" exterior grade plywood and are painted with a premium exterior flat paint and textured with your choice of either sand or rubber. Our standard competition A-frame is 9' high and 3' wide, but we can fabricate them up to 4' wide if desired. We can build your frame with or without slats.
We do not use a pre-made hinge at the top of our A-frames like some manufacturers do because we don't believe they are strong enough. Instead, we use 1" steel tubing welded to the top of the frame for the hinge and a 3/4" solid steel rod with a handle welded to it for the pin. This configuration provides exceptional strength yet allows the frame to be separated into two halves quite easily.
We also build a trapezoid style A-frame, where the top is 3' wide and the bottom is 4' wide. These are becoming more popular because they give the dog a greater area to enter and exit the frame. They do take more time to build though and are therefore slightly more expensive than the standard 3' wide frame.
You can order your frame with or without wheels, on one or both sides. Our standard wheels are 8" diameter steel wheels with rubber tires and sealed ball bearing rollers, and 4" rubber swivel casters. If you order an A-frame with 4 wheels, two wheels are normally fixed on one side and two wheels are swivel casters on the other side, unless you specify different. The wheels flip up and out of the way when the frame is being used and can easily be flipped down for moving the frame around your yard. We build the wheels so that one wheel can be flipped up or down at a time, and the frame can easily be tipped to one side to flip your wheels up or down.

We offer our competition A-frames either unfinished or completely finished and ready to use, or at any stage in between. If you are handy with a can of spray paint and a paint roller, the cheapest way to get a competition grade A-frame is to order it unfinished and paint it yourself. Or if you're really handy, you can get the frame bare or powder coated (powder coating is far superior to spray paint) and put the wood on yourself to save some money.
